A few things worth knowing before you order a keyboard or palmrest.
Keyboard or palmrest
The keyboard is the key deck, and the palmrest is the top case around it where your wrists rest. On many Dell laptops the two come as one assembly, so a keyboard fault means replacing the palmrest.
Finding the right part
Laptop keyboards and palmrests are made for a specific machine. Send us the Dell service tag, the seven character code on the laptop, or the part number from the old part and we'll match it.
Wired or wireless
Dell's wireless desk keyboards connect through a 2.4GHz USB receiver, Bluetooth or both, depending on the model. A wired keyboard plugs straight into a USB port.
Dell model codes
Dell's codes tell you what a product is. KB is a keyboard, MS is a mouse and KM is a keyboard and mouse set.

Can I replace just the keyboard on a Dell laptop?
It depends on the model. On some Dell laptops the keyboard is a separate part, and on many it comes fitted to the palmrest as one assembly. Send us the service tag and we'll tell you which part your laptop takes.
Will a keyboard from one Dell laptop fit another?
Only if the part number matches. Laptop keyboards and palmrests are made for specific machines, so we match each one by service tag or part number. Send us either and we'll confirm the part before we quote.
Do I need to specify a UK layout?
Yes, tell us the layout when you enquire. Dell makes each layout as a separate part, so a UK keyboard has a different part number from a US one. We'll check the layout along with the model before we quote.
What warranty do Dell keyboards and palmrests carry?
3 years on new Dell stock. Every keyboard and palmrest we supply is new and factory sealed, and comes directly from Dell or through authorised distributors.
Can you find a keyboard or palmrest for an older Dell laptop?
Often, yes. We source hard-to-find Dell parts as well as current ones. Send us the service tag or the old part's number and we'll check stock and lead time.
Do you supply single keyboards as well as bulk orders?
Yes. Order one keyboard for a repair or a bulk quantity for an office. In-stock items ordered by 5pm go out for next working day delivery in the UK.
